Music-based Therapeutic Interventions for Dementia

Are you someone who works with a person(s) with dementia? Or do you have a loved one with dementia?  Are you looking for strategies to improve their quality of life? If so, this course is for you.

In this musical webinar, participants will learn about research supporting the evidence-based use of music to help people with dementia.  We will explore the cognitive and psychosocial impact of both receptive (listening) and active (singing, instrument playing) engagement with music.  The webinar will include a video example and stories of case studies.

Participants will learn about interventions they can integrate into their work, even if they have no music training, as well as musical strategies to prevent cognitive decline.

This course is designed for healthcare professionals, facility staff, family caregivers, and anyone who would like to learn more about the benefits of music for dementia.
